I don't know too much about aboriginal art as a style, I just know I relate to this work on a deep emotional level. There is an exhibit right now at the Grey Art Gallery at New York University. And I wish I could get there to take in these images. Here's one I found on-line that captured my imagination.

Very cool. I haven't studied their art either. I do know that the American modern artists picked it up early on in the 50s.
