A History Lesson from My Ephemera Collection

If you keep your eyes open wide, you can get some glimpses of history and insights will follow.  I was posting some 1940s ephemera to my Etsy shop and I discovered some amazing little factoids. I've posted here one of the ads so you can appreciate with me that amazing ways our worlds have changed.

This ad is for Kraft Cheese. The ad copy proudly proclaims that after a five year absence, Kraft cheese is back on the refrigerator shelves of homes across America. I did not know that Kraft cheese needed to take a five year haitus during the war. It makes sense. I knew there was food rationing. I just hadn't focused on the brand level impact.
